We're Back!

I'm coming out of a corporate fog that has been blocking my view for too long now. I love having a work-at-home corporate job, because a) the salary is phenomenal and b) I'm agoraphobic which means I don't really like leaving the house much (debate is still out on 'agoraphobia'; however, that was the official diagnosis when I was 21 years old before a few hypnotherapy sessions that didn't work. and since I don't do 'medicines', I just enjoy my quirk).  HOWEVER, working unreasonable amounts of OT for too many months now...I'm a bit burnt out.

I'm going to go back to indulging in ME, me, me.....and get my creative wheels turning again.  Well, actually, I oiled them up a few weeks ago and back in the groove.  My children, thankfully, have been in their own groove despite me being stuck in my cave (aka: home office).  Autonomous Learning (or whatever they call it these days) is the perfect lifestyle for this quirky family, and I have unique, smart, creative kids who demonstrate this well.  By academic school rules, we likely fall behind, but those rules make no sense anyway.  AND, my children don't need to know all those 3 R's sufficiently right now anyway.  They are each teaching themselves how to read, write, and do arithmetic in their own time with a vigour of interest no stifling school classroom could motivate.

Will be catching up on some fab activities we've been doing these past months.  Despite all the OT I'm working, I do shut down at the weekends and just relax to spend quality time with my children.  No computers turned on (likely why I wasn't blogging).

Which reminds me, I need to shut down now. Before I do, posting just a few snapshots of our morning, that involves wide open doors to the back garden watching a lovely Thrush gathering grass and straw to build a nest. Indigo, Cypress and Zephyr have been observing her daily, giving me detailed accounts.  We're SO enjoying the fact that it's now Spring.

Cypress making her own concoction she calls 'Oat Cake'
She made this last night, was so tasty, she makes more today :)

Indigo working on her Knitting before she moved on to
making illustrations of Dinosaurs.

Zephyr finding renewed interest in building train tracks
(after not touching the train set for years)
Indigo has renewed interest in Dinosaurs (after recently
watching Jurassic Park)

And now I'm shutting down so I can go enjoy this lovely Oat Cake
Cypress is sharing with us
