Paint Chip Notebooks

I should be cleaning the house right now, but like many home educating mums with a full time job who also loves to craft, paint, write, observe nature.....(insert anything but clean house).....I'm grabbing a few moments to show you our latest craft adventure.

I love paint swatches: aka paint chips. Every time I find myself at a paint store, I gravitate towards the lovely colourful strips of paper and gawk at all the fabulous names of paints these days.  I'm reminded of a moment when I was 11 years old, having just moved in to a brand new bedroom that my mother had painted in an 'Apple Green'. Before then, walls were 'cheap wood paneling' or 'white'. I was convinced my walls smelled of apples.

These days paints come in such an array of colours and tasty names; such as, Milkshake, Death by Chocolate, Chilled Chardonnay, Peppermint Beach.  You feel as if you're reading the menu of some trendy cafe, but, alas, you're just in a paint store gawking at paint chips.

The many swatches of paint chips that have lingered for years in a craft box in our home finally spoke to me.  I needed ideas, and after finding some clever crafts using Paint Chips; such as Paint Chip Framed Art from Craft Envy, or these Paint Chip Journals from Lollipoop Designs, and Paint Chip Bookmarks from Tilly's Cottage.  Oh, the possibilities are endless! Like this Paint Chip City from Oops I Craft My Pants (one of my faves!).

My kiddo's finally settled on making these adorable, yet useful, matchbook notebooks (<---go to link for instructions) we found at Pink And Green Mama. We love these!

They LOVE these (ignore the messy house in background)

Can you tell we LOVE these?
