The most important news to catch up on is that my second child, Cypress, has lost her first tooth. She actually lost it on 5th July, and is ever so proud to announce that the tooth right next to it is loose as well. Cypress feels a bit of competition with her older sister, Indigo. They are close in age, but Indigo, being 17 months older, is always 'first' with things. Thankfully, Cypress pointed this out to me several months ago, because I was completely unaware the effect it had on her self-esteem. Or even that I put Indigo first on the list for most things, like 'ride a bike', or 'learn to read'......things I naturally approached Indigo with the 'are you ready?' query. Assuming that Cypress was next. BUT, Cypress corrected me with explaining that she can also be first at things, or possibly they learn some things together. It's a balance we now have, but didn't.
However, as for teeth falling out, I explained I have nothing to do with that! Indigo's first tooth fell out several months ago, and Cypress has been wanting to catch up. Well, not only has she caught up, but now is about to lose her second tooth before Indigo....and in the midst of 'first child, second child, middle child, baby child' psychology......she's thrilled. So be it. Indigo seems not to mind, and Zephyr is off in his own little world anyway....completely oblivious of this competition between his two sisters (wait until they reach the teenage years! and are sharing clothes! ahhhhhhhh)
by-the-way, my kiddo's are convinced that teeth are actually seeds that grow in the clouds to become stars once they fall out....something about a fairy sticks them up there.....(I had nothing to do with this theory!)
Wow, congratulations Cypress! I look forward to admiring the gap on Thursday!
