Guess Who Came to Dinner?

I am thrilled to report that we have now released three itty-bitty frogs into our local pond from our posse of tadpoles we adopted earlier this year. We all were sad to see them go after watching them evolve from tiny tadpole to cute little frog, but know they are in good company at the pond.

I am sad to report; however, that we discovered why the population of tadpoles in our aquarium were simply 'disappearing'. They did not merely hop out the tank and down to the pond on their own to a life of lilly-pad bliss. No. The verdict is now in....and it was the Water Bug!! We're not even sure where he came from. He was just this tiny little creature floating around almost as if he looked dead most of the time.
Well, we recently caught him red-handed with a big fat tadpole in his mouth, and he was NOT letting go. He was bannished to a separate tank so the remaining tadpoles have a chance to hook up with their brethen at the local pond soon.
Mr. Water Bug was flailing his arms wildly when he realised his life of exile, almost as if he were saying 'What do you mean the buffet is closed???'.
I merely mention this tragic incident in case others of you try to raise tadpoles. Make sure Water Bugs are not on the guest list!
